Fast Weight Loss Is A Powerful Motivator

Research has shown that people who set out to change and do it by making dramatic changes in their daily habits actually stay motivated and on track longer than those people who only make moderate changes in their daily routine.

If you think about this it does make sense. Those people who make drastic changes did have to go through the discomfort of change but their results showed up quickly. Take weight loss for instance, if you dramatically cut your calorie level (staying within a healthy level of course) and boost (let’s say double) your exercise time or intensity you will feel the discomfort associated with making changes but you will also see your body change in shape and likely have improvements in blood pressure and other vital statistics. In this case, these changes become choices worth making.

On the other hand, those who made only moderate changes in their eating and exercise habits still had to go through the discomfort of change AND they did not get the benefit of seeing dramatic improvements in their body. This group was much less likely to stick with their plan because the amount of effort didn’t seem worth it.

So there is the compelling reason why fast weight loss is the ultimate motivator. Consider testing this theory in your own life and see the benefits for yourself.
